Position Summary:
Texas Wash Works is seeking an Installation/Welder Technician to assist with the installation, assembly, fabrication, and repair of vehicle wash equipment at customer locations. This position combines mechanical installation work with welding and fabrication responsibilities. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, comfortable working with tools and equipment, and able to travel to job sites as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install and assemble vehicle wash equipment, components, frames, and accessories at customer locations
- Perform welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication work using approved methods and equipment
- Modify or fabricate components as needed to meet project specifications
- Read and follow blueprints, equipment drawings, measurements, installation instructions, and work orders
- Assist with the layout, alignment, anchoring, and assembly of vehicle wash equipment
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, lifts, and other installation equipment
- Assist with mechanical connections and other equipment-related systems within the employee’s training and authorization
- Inspect completed work to confirm that equipment is properly installed, secure, and functioning as intended
- Assist with equipment testing, start-up, adjustments, and troubleshooting
- Identify damaged, defective, or incorrectly installed components and report needed corrective action
- Load, unload, organize, and transport equipment, materials, tools, and supplies
- Maintain tools, equipment, company vehicles, and job sites in a clean and safe condition
- Follow all company, customer-site, and applicable safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment
- Complete work orders, time records, expense reports, and other required documentation accurately and on time
- Communicate project progress, concerns, material needs, and job-site issues to the appropriate manager
- Maintain professional relationships with customers and provide Positively Outrageous Service
- Travel to customer locations and stay overnight when required
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Previous welding, fabrication, construction, equipment installation, or related mechanical experience preferred
- Previous vehicle wash equipment or car wash tunnel installation experience is a plus
- Ability to read measurements, blueprints, installation drawings, and equipment documentation
- Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of an installation crew
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record, if operating a company vehicle
- Ability to travel, work at different customer locations, and work overtime or nontraditional hours when required
Physical and Work Environment Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to repeatedly bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, twist, push, pull, climb, and perform fine and repetitive hand movements
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
- Ability to safely climb ladders and work from elevated surfaces or lifts when required
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments and in varying weather and temperature conditions
- Ability to work around noise, dust, welding fumes, moving equipment, chemicals, and active construction or installation areas while using required protective equipment
- Ability to read equipment drawings, measurements, safety information, and work orders and recognize workplace hazards
